Mission Statement

About Us . . . The Friends of the Lower Great Lakes Fishery Resources Office, Inc. (Friends of Fish) was incorporated in September 2002 by a small group of local citizens from Erie and Niagara counties. These individuals represent different personal and professional backgrounds, but they share a common goal. They care about the Great Lakes and want to make a difference for the benefit of the community.

Times . . .
The ecology of the lower Great Lakes watershed is threatened by invasive species, habitat loss and degradation, and pollution. Native species, once prolific, have been slowly disappearing. Although state and federal agencies work together to conserve, protect and restore species such as lake sturgeon and lake trout, these species face many challenges.
